Pisssed....Hasport Cable to Hydro Conversion, Another Problem!
Well to start off this thread id like to say that i did the Cable to Hydro conversion about 8 months ago. Not sure if its just my car or what but the adjustments are so picky......
One day it will be perfect, the next i wont grab, or it wont disengage. This is all due to the adjustments on the conversion.
Well lattly ive been having problems keeping the M8 bolt tight (the bolt that goes into the shift fork to keep the right pressure in the right place and to make sure it stays on). So last night at the track the bolt fell out somewhere, none the less i still drove it and it was fine. Today i went to home depot and got another bolt and it was fine all day. Then this evening i took my car out and meet some people and when i went to start my car back up i heard a weird load rattling noise and immediatly turned my car off. Well come to find out some weird way that this bolt came loose and fell into the opening by the shift fork and fell down by my pressure plate/flywheel area.
I had two choices start it and take the chance of it jamming somehting up and breaking **** ot just use my free roadside assistance......i took the roadside assistance. Better safe then sorry.
Not that this is a HUGE deal but it is gonna take some time to either somehow fish it out or pull the transmision slightly off to remove it, it still sucks. Just seems like one thing after another with this kit. Hasport is great **** and ive always loved their products, i guess ive just been having bad luck with this conversion. Now i think i have came to the conclusion that i will either go back to cable or i will do the complete conversion (slave cylinder, resivor, and all). Enough with my rambling.
Has anyone else been having problem with the kit?

Here's a page about an ENDYN buildup that used that conversion (near the bottom):

They added some mods to the linkage to improve engagement:

and my plan is to remove the guts from the ITR transmission and stuff them into an YS1 case I have. This will allow me to utilize the factory cable combination, which will surely solve all the problems that still exist.
I have ITR guts now in my YS1 case. Either you should convert to full
hydro or stay cable. Don't do a "hybrid" on the linkage.

You can probably fish the bolt out with a magnet on a stick - they sell them at like Home Depot in the plumbing department for getting jewlry that has fallen down the drain or stuff like that. Its saved my *** multiple times.

Ha, yeah ive been fishing all morning tryin to get it out without pullin the trans but havent had any luck. No real sure where its caught up at and stuck since the motor did rotate for a sec before i shut it off.
Threadlock for sure as soon as I get the bad boy out!

The flywheel cover is off......theres no room to get to the other side of it though.
There might be a 1/8th of an inch around the flywheel and thats not enough room to get in there.

i just did my cable to hydro hasport conversion last night. the only problems i ran into was my lower radiator hose was rubbing against the conversion piece and my radiator fan.
i cut off about 2" off the lower radiator hose and trimmed the fan alittle bit and now its all good.
the only other problem, even though its not a problem is that my clutch cable sits at a weird angle in both the top holder and the puller for the cable.
oh and they also sent me the wrong hardness on my mount, street instead of street/strip

Heres the thing, i dont want to FLAME on Hasport. As we all know they have been around a very long time and have made some very good products.
Im simply saying that i personally have had some bad luck with this kit.
Dont get me wrong, i love being able to use a Hydro tranny because we both know they are 100 times better in my opionion.

im having a ton of problems with mine hasport setup. I think my pedal assembly might be fucked and bent. I burned out a clutch in 1500 miles from it being partially engage but if i losen it, the clutch wont engage at all. I think that bolt accually striped out on my fork so its never coming out
