1/8 mile boosted Si...results for first time on track...need advice!
Well for the first time ever, i ran my car at the drag down here ( 1/8th mile), and i feel as though i did horrible. I ran a 9.668 @ 84.60 mph....no traction in 1st gear, bad wheel hop in 2nd. My 60 ft was a 2.411. My car was on low boost (290 hp 205 torque). Is this as bad as i think? What should i be able to run?
P.S. I was on street tires...and my best MPH was 87.92.

yeah, my 60 was horrible. First time i smoked the tires really bad, second time i bogged just trying to keep from spinning. I think being my first time and all, my nerves probably got the best of me... There were cars out there that i had raced before on the street from a dig, and would beat them pretty badly, but at the track they had better times than i did. I am curious as to what other FWD's that are comparable to me get for 60 ft times. You being all wheel drive helps a lot im sure!

With a trap speed like that, you could be low-to-mid-8's.
Get some slicks. They make life much easier.

I have DSS stage 5 axles too by the way ( not afraid of launching hard)

If your at 290whp at low boost you might as well get 24x8.5 M&H slicks and run high boost. Don't worry about your axles, if you launch right you'll have less chance breaking them on slicks than street tires anyway.

horrible is an understatement. I ran an 8.8 with a 11psi sohc around 200whp and a 2.18 60 ft. With 90 hp more and 20-30 more lbs of torque you should be doing much better.
yeah i agree thats a little bad. ive ran 8.90's in an NA 4th gen lude
id get some slicks or drag radials and get that 60ft down, look for low 8's
good luck

I feel ya bro.
I have a 99 Si coupe, and had similar troubles.
400whp capable (350whp max @ track) on street tires @ the 1/8th and bested a 9.0 @ over 90mph...lol...
Spun the ENTIRE way down the track...

Get some slicks man. I ran a 7.85 at 96mph first time out with some old slicks. I make a little more power than you but your car will run alot better thats for sure. GET SOME TRACTION DUDE YOU WILL LOVE IT
yeah...traction was horrible, and wheel hop was pretty scary also. Im wanting to get a set of traction bars too, but im not sure if they will fit around my ic pipes or not. Havent got a 100% answer on that yet.

Ditto.
Get slicks first. Then if you want, worry about the traction bar like someone else stated. But slicks will do far more to improve the time.

yeah, i will be getting slicks eventually to see what i can do with the new gt35r setup that is going on here in the next couple of weeks. This car is a daily driver, not a drag...that is why i was more concerned about other things that would help rather than just slicks.
