ITR Suspension: Shocks revalved?
I understand that the ITR uses a spring that lowers the vehicle by 15mm. My question is:
1. Are the springs the same rate as a GSR or are they stiffer with different rates? If so, what are the rates for a GSR and a ITR?
2. If the springs rates are indeed higher then a GSR, then have the shocks been revalved to accommodate the stiffer rate spring? Iam assuming that if the ITR uses springs that lower the car by 15mm, they also increased the rate of the springs. Iam fairly confident that anything noble enough to carry the 'TYPE R' logo from Honda bears function over fashion.
3. Also, where can I purchase the rear 'performance brace' at a reasonable cost? Is there a alternative that achieves the same goal of the rear brace (rigidity) that may be more cost effective and functional then the Honda pieace?
Thanks in advance.
Best,

1. GSR springs are F212 lb/in Linear, rear 117 lb/in (Not sure if linear)
ITR springs are stiffer. Front is about 250 lb/in. linear. Do a search in archives, this has been posted before. Maybe someone else has it handy.
2. ITR shocks are much stiffer than GSR, and from what I understand they are not just stiffer GSR shocks (or just a little better). Rears are different, different LCA. They were specially designed and valved to match the ITR spring rates. There's been discussion about that too on this forum.
3. If you're talking about the rear upper strut bar, I'd look into OMP: http://www.ompwins.com http://www.ompusa.com
Cost is about $99, BUT, you'll have to cut the panel above the strut to install these.
Hope this helps.

#3- if you're refering to the bar at the very end of the trunk area, below the taillights, Benen Industries makes something similar that I beleive will bolt up in a GS-R.
Thanks for the information, Vitt1. I searched in archives using varying search conditions such as 'shocks' , 'springs' , 'spring rate' etc. with nothing returned.
Also, do you have any recomendations to stiffen the chassis? The rear strut bar is the only piece I have heard of.
Thanks again.

P.S. OMP sells Integra parts? I thought they only sold accesories such as seats, suits, harnesses etc. made by them

i have the ITR shocks, springs, and Rear LCA's on my 01 gs-r. the shocks are much stiffer and much more respeonsive over stock gs-r. i truley never realized this untill Acura gave me a four door LS which i have no been driving for a week now. As far as stiffining the chassis, you can purchase the bar that goes between the rear taillights, but bear in mind is does require drilling. I aslo have a rerar chassis bar that goes under the trunk carpet. i got that piece on JDMhondaparts.com. i have also sen them on Ebay
I had also seen a bar that goes on the rear floor, but can't find a link, and I believe there is another that goes up high, on or near the rear seat belts attaching point. Not sure of prices.
The ITR bar that goes inside the bumper menitoned above is not as expensive as the rear strut bar. I wasn't sure your car was an R or not.
