Default Swap Done...Now Comes Problem Solving

I finally got my swap done now I have a few issues that I need some help with....

Stats
Motor: B16 in a 1995 Del Sol Si.
No exhaust as of yet just header and cat....
AEM CAI

I started the motor up and had no CEL...I was happy about that but the Idle on the car pulsates from 1500-2000 RPM granted the engine wasn't warm yet but its does VRUM-Cough-VRUM-Cough around once a second...If I pressed the gas it would go up thought the RPMs with no problems then I let off the gas and it would start right back in again...any idea's

Also, I figured I would take it aound the block to see how it went...I backed out of the garage but when I went to put it into first I lost everything no forward or reverse...you can hear reverse going and the speedo goes up in 1st....what could be the issue?

Thanks for your help
-Joe

it's a tps. iacv, or map sensor
check them all and make sure everything is wired properly

I cleaned the FITV and the IAVC, it helped for all of 10 minutes once I started driving around it went right back to either a High (2000rpm) idle or a pulsating (800-1500) Idle, How can I can I check the TPS and Map Sensor? What Voltages should I be reading?.... and were can I buy a TPS from what I'm hearing they can't be bought without getting a new TB

SO frustraighting...people think I want to race all the time when its just a stupid IDLE
thanks

TPS ~.45-4.5
map ?? dunno, but it would be throwing a CEL for either of those...

Honestly it sounds more like a vacuum leak to me

Ok so after cleaning the FITV and IAVC, and realizing it didn't help all that much I noticed my Throttle Cable was a little loose, so I tightened that down that fixed the overly high idle so I'm down to it just pulsating now...

I read on here that sometimes Low or bubbles in the coolant will cause a problem like this, so I burped the radiator this morning, I'm hoping that fixes it, I havn't gone anywhere yet with it (I'm leaving for a test drive in a few minutes)

Something I Have noticed though is when I start it and it gets up to OP temp if I don't touch the throttle its completely fine once I hit the throttle its random as to if its going to pulsate or not.

Oh and I checked the TPS its at .5 a little high but not that bad (i'm hoping its not this because mine is rivetted in )

open the radiator cap while engine is on. leave it for 5 to 10 mins, it might still have air. also check your tps even ifts a littlebit off, it would make the idle erratic.

sounds like a vacuum leak. spray some carb cleaner around the all those lines on the back of the intake mani, if the rpms pick up that's where it's leaking.

I've gotten all the bubbles out of the radiator system, and checked the TPS. The TPS reads at .5 or so, I sprayed carb cleaner around the connections and the idle stays irratic as usual, no change... Its starting to be random, sometimes it idles fine at 800rpm's other times it jumps from 800-1200 and back down repeatedly...
SO frustraighting

What shift linkage did you use for the swap?

The axle issue is fixed we figured that one out the other day, the car goes good its just the issue of the idle now,

Shift linkage was from the 95 del sol vtec modle, I have a complete parts car as a friend rear ended a tree and the insurance totaled it, I bought it off the insurance company :-)

Rear ended the tree.... How do you tell which is the front or rear of a tree?

Good luck with the idle issue.

Vacumn lines being crossed should not be an issue. All the vacumn besides the brakes comes from the intake.

Post the answer if you fix it.

Good luck

if you need to change the tps simply take a dremel tool or maybe a hacksaw blade will work and cut a channel in each of the ''rivets'' on the tps and use a flat head screw driver and simply unscrew it. now about getting a new one i suggest going to a junk yard and doing the same thing they are interchangeable on the majority of the honda engines.
