The best roll cage is one thats custom built for the car, welded in and built to specifications of the sanctioned racing body you intend to race with, by a reputable shop.
Plan on $2000 or more.

2000 wouldnt even pay for a 4 point at my work. 4 points start at $2200, and 6 points start at $4500.

WTF?! $2000 . . . $4500 is crazy expensive! Thank god I live in California! I recommend getting a JDM Cusco 6 Point Roll Bar set-up, which u could get for way cheaper than $4500! Plus it adds jdm bling!

cusco? if you are honestly looking for something that will protect you in the event of a crash, do not get a bolt in cage. i would never trust my life with one.

you gotta pay to play when you are playing with your life.

Too high...Tripoint Engineering quoted me $2000-2500 for a custom SCCA legal cage.

Definitely custom indeed...

Geez... A guy here in Illinois makes full roll cages for like $800 to $1000.

That's welded in and built to spec..

cusco is just a waste of money and the bling. the cusco cage is as good as pvc piping and duct tape.

If this is going to be a street car then DON"T get a cage. There is an article in the new Sport Compact Car:

cage in car + no helmet + accident = head being split open upon a serious impact.

Except it appears for a RHD car, rendering the cage useless for a US model.

It'd be worthless to get the Cusco cage if you want to take it to the track. They are not NASA or SCCA legal....If you want to just show it off, go for it.

you're right about that, but i made my suggestion thinking that it would be just for show! but paying $4k for a custom is just way too much and, honestly, most people don't track their cars anyways (i only do test and tune events)
