Default Checking freon levels?

My AC isn't working, and I wanted to know how to check my freon level!

Default Re: Checking freon levels? (Tippyman)

Use a recovery unit:

Get some sort of appropriate temporary holding tank with necessary fittings, attach to discharge of hpru (high pressure recovery unit), hook suction of hpru to vehicle system. pre weigh the empty canister (which should be in a good vacuum to begin with). note that weight. Recover into cylinder appropriately, record new weight... assume a 10% oil weight in there, and voila there ya got it. (or alternatively/preferably you'd need an oil separator)

So in short... take it to a shop.... or just stick some freon in and see/hope if it fixes it.

--- just my opinion ---
