damn caliper
The bolt that you take out to open the caliper so you can change your brakes broke on me. So now the bolt is broke inside of the caliper. Is there anything i can do besides purchasing a new caliper
take a saw and saw the bolt where it meets the caliper, try to do it with enough sticking out the caliper to get vise grips on it, or you will have to drill it out, or get a new caliper.
another thing i just thought off, saw the head off (like right next to the head), then take the whole caliper bracket and all off (2 17mm bolts) slide the bracket off. that will expose the rest of the bolt. now if you dont have a vise bolt just the bracket back onto the spindle (leave the caliper off) then use the vise grips to try to break the bolt loose.
I cant tap it out because it is stuck inside of the caliper. There is no were to tap it to. It like a one way street. Thought about drillin it out but then that would destroy the threads.I was able to pull half of the bolt out because it broke and thejust fell out
you can replace that whole thing that the bolts go into just have to pull out the rubber boot and the sleeve on the rears not sure about the fronts, but im pretty sure its the same concept
