Default coolant bleed screw piece

Does the piece that has the coolant bleed screw on it have a gasket? I looked for a gasket and found nothing. Do I just put Honda bond around the outside of the piece and put it back on the head.

IDK for sure, so I'm gonna point you to http://www.majestichonda.com
go to their parts department, look up the coolant system and it'll show you a pic and list of every nut, wash, bolt, every single part.

for fellow Buckeye from the funny name place! I've been trying to pronounce that word since I can remember!

I have searched Majestics and I could not find anything. I went on a Napa website and I could not find a gasket there either. Anyone else have any help.

It is funny to hear some people try to pronounce Wapakoneta. haha.

Try harder, you can buy every piece of a CRX from them, someone just pulled this up the other day from majestic.
Sometimes you just gotta know where to look....

IF your talking about the upper coolent neck coming off your head, just put a thin layer of hondabond on it. If your talking about the actual coolent bleed screw, it doesnt need any sealant, just tighten it up.

The car is a 90 crx si with i/h/e.

The I was trying to describe was where the upper coolent neck. I did not know the name of the part or how to really describe it. Thanks for the help. Sadly I won't be able to get my car running over the weekend, and Monday. My parts from majestics didn't come today, so my head will not be able to go on till Monady. So I won't be able to get the header and intake back on till next weekend. I really wanted to drive my rex this week! I have not driven it in over 4 months.

It has been horrible. And before the 4 months I only drove my car for probably a month because I have only had my license for around 6 months. Yeah, I'm a young one. haha.

haha that sounds like my first CRX.....
I had saved for years, I was 14 and bought it. It sat in my driveway, and I just rubbed it with a diaper and detailed it ridiculously, and replacd some minor stuff.
Only got to drive it here n there before I got my liscense, so for 2 years it didn't get much use.
Then I got my L's, it was great.......for about 2 months.
Long story short: Once I was finally legal to drive it, it broke down. By the Time I figured out what was wrong, the tire rod snapped and the city imounded it for being up on a cynder block forever
It was shortlived, but long enough to trap me in the CRX world

think about this though, if you put sealant on the coolant bleed screw, how the F you supposed to get it lose to bleed it? and what would happen if some sealant got past the threads and into the coolant system.. might not be enought to clog the water pump, but it could get into the radiator core... thats no good.. might not notice it, but still a perfornance drain on your colling system.. i have never needed any selant for a water system cept a water pump on an old chevy gotta love those old chevys

I put honda bond around the edge of the metal piece that is for the upper radiator hose. I did not put honda bond on the bleed screw. So you don't think I need any honda bond at all. I have not put coolant in my engine so it would not be hard to fix. Anyone else not put any sealent around this piece?

It looked like there had been some sealant around this piece before.

Also do you put sealant around the edge of a dizzy? I have to install one soon and thought I would use honda bond around the edge of it too, but the honda bond might get in my oil. What should I do?
