I have a 97 honda civic ex coupe and I was wondering how to remove the key beep sound, so I can listen to my music without hearing that annoying sound. thankx
just connect ur deck wire, yellow + red together and itll work without having to putting key in, its direct power... but remember to always remember to turn off the deck b4 leaving ur car!

Close the damn door and that will fix and that is the solution to your problem

Right beside the drivers seat on the left side lift up the carpet and there is a little plug the connects to the sensor that tells if your door is open. Just disconnect the plug and your problem is solved. This also makes your dome light not work. If you really want to listen to your music out of the car without it beeping just role down the windows. And if you really want to leave the doors open you can install a switch to that line so you can choose when you want it and when you don't.
my 93 civic did it until i removed the door sensor. it only beeped when the door was open. consequently, i like to listen to my radio while working on my car. that is why i removed mine. however, this also disables the auto dome light from the driver's side(i think). i haven't done a full blown research on it but you can.
Lift the carpet up beside the seat and just pull the electrical connection off. There you go no more beeping. I forgot where the chime is at I helped my friend take his out on a newer model. If you want to keep the dome light follow the wiring diagram in a manual to find it, should't take too long.
( It's the carpet on the left of the driver's seat. You lift up the plastic panel on the door sill and the carpet is attached to it. Leave the carpet attached and just unhook the connector.)

Yeah, but the ignition's got to be on for the radio to work..unless you give the radio direct power, so when the ignition's on...the key's in the ignition (unless you stole the car), either way, the key has to be in when he's listening to the radio w/ the doors open

The door pin trick is a stupid idea. I'm guessing none of you have alarms. The stereo trick is a slightly better idea. But I have the best yet. Turn the key on and open the door. Now you have a continuous beeping for you to track down. Remove your lower dash cover and follow the sound. Stupid. Why would you beg for an answer on the internet?
Depending on what kind of work you're doing to the car, I wouldn't recommend doing it with the key on.

okay, well if i remember right the chime/beep is coming from inback of the fuse box. The easiest way to remove this beep, is remove the grounding wire from the combination switch. Im pretty sure its a single wire on the combination switch towards the keyhole that grounds out when your keys in there. Let me know if im right.
I don't know if they are the same but here is how i disabled mine on my 95
