how to disable the beep when the key is in
Yeah usually theres a piece to behind you and to the left where the door is if your sitting in the car. Its held on by a phillips screw. Mine is black. Take it out and no more beep.
The easy way is to remove the cover over the wiper arm/ turn signal arm(steering column cover). Now where your ignition is the will be a little black looking box connected there. It's held on by a small Phillips. Once you remove that screw let it just hang in there, you'll see the little push button it has. And thats what keeps the beeping going when the key is in....
This is for eg's and ef's... I'm pretty sure is the same with ek's. Good luck.

You are GOOD! That worked like a charm. I just took it off. Now I can work on my car and listen to music without that extremely annoying beep
Thanks

lol or you can just remove the red 7.5 fuse that controls the interior light which also control the annoying beep..
on the eg's it will be one of the red 7.5 red fuses on the bottom part of the fuse box in the middle (bottom middle red 7.5 fuse)
on the ek's it will be #43 7.5 fuse on the engine fuse box.
:i kinda like the beep:

i did what the said in an earlier post. hey it works. and my alarm still works. that something good to know. also this would be a good trick to play on my brother. what i plan on doing is taking his and duck taping it closed so no matter what he does it will be on. he will have no idea how to fix it unless he comes on here and sees my post.

the only "black box" in my ek is the one containing the wiper controls. (just out of the picture top center) i don't see anything else but the ignition.

Yea but that turns on everything and that drains the battery alot faster

just look by your key hole! There are two wires wrapped in black plastic that go into the back side of where your key goes. You can just cut them off or take out the little module that they go into which is held on by one small gold phillips srcrew
I took mine off and then cut the wires so it's not just hanging there.
