Could be the clutch starting to go. You need to give us more information though. What kind of smell?

it could be a few things.
1 my guess is the clutch might be slipping.
if so ull probly need to replace it.
2 might wanna check around the bay see if ur leaking oil.
if so replace seals etc.
3 also check ur hoses it shouldnt be a problem but u might be leaking colant on ur block. if that is the case and they arent cracking then just go head and make sure they are tighten down.

i have had all of these problems in the past with another car. good luck. hope i helped.

i really doubt these reasons, personally i would like to kno if you had defroster/heater/anything like this on, just to see if it's the heater core, aside from that, it's likely oil, in which case it could be a variety of things, but coolant has a very distinct smell and if a hose is going, you'llknow by the billows of smoke fromunder the hood...good luck keep us posted

doesnt smell like oil.. or coolant either. kinda smells a little like the clutch but not really. smells a little rubbery.

the thing is that the smell came straight through the vents so i dont think its coming from the tranny. no smoke anywhere. car runs coo but it got 188k on the motor and i know compression is not as great as it should be

could the clutch be slipping but my rpms didnt jump or anything
