Default Welding SS Steel to Mild Steel? Welders!

I got a MIG welder and we are trying to weld SS steel to Mild Steel. We know we need a different wire but arent sure which kind... also what gas do I need? co2/argon or something else?

thanks!

it depends on the thicknesses of the metal, if this is your first go at welding please practice first, you'll be glad you did.

ive done this, welded a stainless pipe to a mild one. mild wire, worked fine. the wire speed and voltage is up to you, whatever is most effective / works for you. good luck

there is a different type of wire that is used for this, I don't remember what it is, but it's like an alloy that's halfway between the other 2..I have some of it, but I''m too lazy to go outside and see what is is..but it's really not a big deal either way.
