Default what number should be on the block for a TYPE R MOTOR? b18?

hey guys im buyin a EK9 sooon and i wanna check to see if it is a type r motor. What should i look for to distinguiish that it is a type r motor? thanx for all help.

maybe in a USDM/CDM ITR, but not the civic type R. try a b16b.

It will say B16B thats all no numbers after or anything.

it will have B16B only stamped on the block , but the VIN plate will have B16B then some numbers after to identify the induvidual engine
