Default Thoughts on this swap???

I'm thinkin a simple K20a3 swap would be nice into the Civic EX

pretty much all other countries with our style civic (sedan) comes standard with the k20a3 (i believe)

i'd like to swap in that k20z but my tach only goes to 8k, i'm not throwing no aftermarket tach in the car . . . (stupid reasons.. but thats MINE )

so my final question would be... how much can you pick up a k20a3 for?

I'd definately need an 06-up k20a3 for the swap to be legal - also comptech has a race header for that motor. . . think it would fit if i dropped the motor into the FG body?

PLEASE discuss!

why would you swap in the k20a3 when your car has a direct relation to the si?

wouldn't the 06 si motor be the EXACT fit?

I really hope the tach is not your only reason for not doing a z or a2 swap.

How hard is it to drop a K into an EX?

Why do you want the swap?

If its because of emissions, buy an Si

If its for more power, turbo your EX

obviously for more power... i didn't purchase the car.. my parents did, it's mine and i make the payments and when i bought mine ,the Si wasnt for sale yet. ..

i would turbo the motor, but at this point and time.. no one (greddy, cybernations, etc..) has no plans what-so-ever to come out with one for the R18A1

Gay.

I've thought about turboin'g or swapping my Fg1 cuz the stock 140 hp isn't cutting it. I was hoping greddy would come out with some mild set up for an extra easy legal ~40-50hp. Hopefully you're wrong about the notion that nobody plans on making a kit.

Information on turbo kit? Inbox

Greddy,

I was wondering if your company will be R&D for a turbo for the 2006 Civic EX (engine code = R18A1). The Si, while a great car is not what I landed, but not necessarily what I wanted. What I would like is just a little more juice out of my civic via Greddy turbo kit.

The new SOHC iVtec motor isn't the same as the old D-series motors, different exhaust out put.

Also I'd like to recommend that should you at Greddy design a turbo kit for the 2006+ civic that you make it compatible with a fog light kit (for use with the intercooler) that would make a lot of people happy since a big majority of us honda civic owners love to have our fog lights.

Thank you for your time

-Daniel

Thanks for your interest in GReddy Products
Currently we do not have any plans for a Civic EX turbo kit, but we thank you for your input on future GReddy products. We feel it is very important to get feedback for current and future customers. I will forward your request to our design department, and if we get enough support and request for items like this, we may look into developing items in this area. Thank you again for your email.

STS makes a turbo setup for you and its emissions legal because its after cat

Youll need to get with other EX owners are figure out the little quirks with fuel/ignition tuning --- thats your main hurdle as the hard parts can be fab'd easily

With the DBW and ECU hurdles....it will be some time but very possible

isn't that where the turbo is in the rear or under the car or something, not your traditional style setup?

edit: checked out their website.. watched their demo.. not a bad setup at all really... may be the ONLY hope for us R18a1 owners lol
