Boost gauge issues........
Here's the deal....i was putting my Autometer boost gauge in my GSR yesterday afternoon and as i did, one of the long screws on the back pushed into the inside of the gauge and knocked the little plastic piece off. The plastic piece connects the outer coil of metal to the piece that reads the pressure. My question is.....
Can i cut the very back off the gauge or cut a bigger hole in it in order to put this little piece back on, or do boost gauges need to be sealed and pressurized in order to work properly?? If i cut it, it will be just a slightly bigger hole so that i can get a pliers in to drop that piece in place......What can i do???

ok that's what i was hoping.....i didn't know why it would need to be sealed, but i thought i'd better make sure before i go and tear it apart......not that it works right now anyway
