i have a d16y7 in my car and would like to do a mini me swap should i use the y8 head or z6 head i am also turbing so which one would lower my compression what all do i need to do this swap??? i need help asap and i have and d15b vtec head would that be my best bet or what thanks

 

A d15b vtec head is the same as the d16z6 head except for the camshaft..Z6 head would yeild a lower compression ratio,,but the y8 manifold is great for turbo..

 

couldnt i swap manifolds and to complete the swap would i keed different wiring harness and sommeone said i could splice wires to make vtec work and keep the same harness

 

Yeah ,you can use the y8 manifold on the Z6 head..

And you add the wires for vtec ,,then pin them into the ecu clips and use an ecu that can control vtec....Dont just put the head on and run the vtec wire to an rpm switch,,thats not really vtec,,you also need the fuel and timing that goes along with it..
