AC Doesn't Work After Swap!
I just finished my SOHC ZC swap, and everything is running great! No error codes, no CEL's everythingis peachy! Except that is, for my AC. It worked perfect before the swap, but now when the air is blowing and I push the button, no change.
What could be wrong? The belt is attatched and tight, that's the only thing I can think of! I even clipped that little wire on top of the compressor back together!
Anybody had a similar experience or know what it could be?

I had a similar problem, turned out my compressor was out.
When u push the A/C button do you hear or see the compressor clutch engage. If you cant hear it, have someone sit in the car while its runnin of course and watch the compressor and check to see if it engages.
Does the blue A/C light come on?
I just went through all of this so I may be able to help.

I never touched any of the fluids in it. I assumed that it would be exactly the same as it was before the swap. I just unbolted it from the block. Never touched anything else...
you never took a line off at all?

I dount it. If he didnt touch it the only thing it could be is his belt. Let me ask you. Did you put your belt on??? hahalol.. Is your belt tight?? Thats the only thing I can think of if indeed you did not touch anything else. THen again any part could go out at anytime.

another dumb gimme.........did you check the fuses and compressor connections. I did the same thing on my ZC swap didn't connect the compressor back and had an attack for about an hour before I checked the compressor connection it's hard to see especially if you keep your P/S on.
BTW still rockin' R12..............if it ain't broke don't fix it.

The A/C has a pressure switch that does not allow the compressor to engage if the pressure in the system is either too high or too low. And if there is little to no freon, the pressure will be too low.

Dude take it to a shop. R12 is too expensive to try to mess around with it yourself.
To check your freon level you're going to need a set of R12 manifold gauges; they're going to be $40-50. You'll have to go to a A/C specialty shop because you won't be able to find much at all for R12 at the chain auto parts stores.

there is one wire (power wire) that goes from the compressor to the harness that runs along the cooling fan housing, the wire is pink or red (mine's faded). check to see if that came loose or came off while you were moving the compressor out of the way.
EDIT: Disregard....in your first post you said you did connect the wire back. I would make sure that the wire was getting power though.
