You can either make a push button one using a switch and a relay or you can get an RPM activated switch and controller from a place like Summit Racing. Basically this is all this controller is on ebay anyways.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...rdZ1 but get ready for some people to argue with you about the usefulness of a controller.
oh cool so this should just hook up to the ecu and work fine? Oh and whats the problem with having a vtech controller? sorry for the noob question.
thanks though

Nope, you can make a V-TECH controller.

no you can make a switch that will turn over your vtec solinoid but it will no nothing for you...
if you already have a vtec head or a b16 hook it up the right way and it will work 100x better

Since you are converting it to OBD-1 to do the mini-me, get a P28 and have someone tune it properly, and VTEC will work. BTW: $200 aint ****. If you think that's a lot, you prolly should rethink your hobby.

The thought is, the crossover point is a delicate balance when switching from lobe to lobe. Many believe, Honda being Honda, has put hours upon hours of R&D to find the most efficient crossover point.
More times than not, people will get a contoller and move the point way down in the rev-band, thinking the earlier the better... but in reality doing more harm than good.
