1993 Accord EX auto tranny problem
I am currently working on my 1993 Accord EX. The problem I am having is a noice when I shift from neutral to drive. I hear a loud clang. Essentially, it is shifting pretty rough. The noice only occurs when shifting through those two gears. Otherwise the car starts/drives fine.
I have flushed the tranny fluid in it and checked the computers. Beyond that I am pretty clueless on what it could be.
Any suggestions/tips?

Did you use Honda fluid? If the fluid was really dirty, you may need to change it again. Three changes, with a short drive in between is considered a flush in the Accord service manual. A simple fluid change only replaces a little more than half of the flluid that's actually in the transmission. Of course there is no guarantee this will help. Worth a shot, IMO though. Beats waiting for the trans to totally give out on you.
Also if the car was in reverse the last time it moved it's going to have the clunk. That's normal. But if you do Drive - Neutral - Drive and it still makes the same noise you may have an issue.
sounds like the forward clutches wont engadge right, im not too well versed in auto trannys, but i can tell you, auto trannys in cb7's = biggest peices of **** on the plannet... dump that ******* thing and grab a transmission from a Prelude Si... get a new presure plat, throw out berrings and OEM clutch (sorry guys, but "high preformance" clutches are my bitch!) and call it a day, next time you feel like killing some rubber, all you have to do is drop the hammer and strip the rubber! have fun!
