First off, is the car a manual or an automatic. Secondly what year and trim is this car. Thirdly Do you mean that the RPM rises in-congruently to the vehicle speed.

change your transmission..you could try and do a tranny flush...but wiht the symptoms you stated it's probably too late

Don't trash the tranny yet. I would change the fluid with Honda ATF Z-1 and see if that helps it out any. It may just be low on fluid

I had it in my Volvo and it didn't do a thing for it, while replacing it with new volvo fluid did. I would never put it in a honda automatic transmission.

now as far manual transmissions as in your case In my own accord using Honda MTF made a very noticible difference in shifting. (a lot easier to shift) So you may give that a shot. Especially since yours gets a hard life

Oh for my tranny(not trying to thread jack) I use all honda OEM stuff..fuel fiters, MTF, distributor, dizzy cap, dizzy rotars, motor mounts, speed sensor, all the goods...some after market stuff is just not up to par with genuine OEM goods!

Althought I am a cheapy when it comes to Autozone axels Lifetime warrenty!?!?! oh yeah and I plan to use it lol

anyway

Honda MTF has that additive in it?? that 10-30 doesn't have..don't know what it called but all my friends who are tuners to the extream usehonda MTF..I just follow suit and do notice a difference...I had 10-30w in my b18c1 hatch about 8-9 months ago and it used to grind a little bit in 5th shifting from 4th over 4000 rpms...we did a tranny flush and saw some of that coppery flake stuff that is a sign of raped syncros..and refilled the tranyn with honda MTF...didn't do it again till the day I got rid of it

(but you also a hond technician and thats pumped into your thinking!! lol just kidding)

I agree with this guy, check your fluid level, if the level is ok your trans is busted and needs replacement. I had an 83 celica auto that would always slip like that when shifting from 2nd to 3rd....you'd have to let off the gas in order for it to grab and shift. lol the trans was bad in the car but suprisingly I drove it like that for 3 years along with a rod knock! hahahahaha
