Default HELP ME FELLAS CAR PROBLEM!

Guys few days ago i tried to start my dc4 and the key gave me some problems, it wouldnt turn. After playing with it for 2 minutes i got it to work, car started. Today i go to move my car to the other side of the street and the key will not turn in the ignition. It opens the doors and trunk fine but will not turn in the ignition. I tried for a good half hour. Have the calis on my index finger to prove it. Anyhow even if it works when i get home i will be afraid to drive it and have the same **** happen again away from my home.

Before i go out to get this thing looked at, I ask the experts here at htech, what could it be, and how much am i looking at to getting it fixed. Please advise asap. Thanks in advance.

How worn out is the key? Try getting a new one made from your vin number.

You shouldnt have forced it. Now you may have worse problems than a worn out key.

I would def. go with a new key first.

New ignition. Drill out the two bolts that hold the old one on. I don't know how much they cost You may be able to find one used for 150 bucks?

The key DOES NOT TURN in the ignition at all, and its not that the steering whell lock is on either. The key just goes in. I just remembered i DO have an extra key to my car in my apt, i will try it when i get home. I just want to know how much its going to cost so that when i get it towed somewhere they dont hose me.

i think he meant trying to turn the key in the ignition while you twist the steering wheel around. there should be a little bit of give on the wheel and the key just pops in at the right click and you can turn the ignition

GOT THE SPARE KEY SAME PROBLEM. Theres a garage down the block from my crib, the key will not turn on one shot, it takes a lot of fiddling around. Does anyone know how much this will cost so that I dont get hosed when i drop by there today to see how much it costs.

WD-40 TO THE RESCUE. Dude at the shop sprayed some in the ignition, and it worked like a charm.
