I'm going to get my front bumper repainted again by a premo bodyshop and spend a good chunk of money......... I got a quick fix last year before i put it away and they painted over the plastic grill above my chin spoiler.........is that piece attached to the bumber or to another part of the car........could the bodyshop take the paint off it or do i have to buy a new one from acura?

They can take the paint off.

 

Got any pictures? I always wondered why they didn't paint the "grill". I hate the cheap look of unpainted plastic.
