Default b16 engines.

i just got a 99 accord v6 with the stock vtec engine and i was considering swapping for a b16. what exactly does a b16 have to offer? if i did swap that would the installation be easy or would you have to fabricate alot of stuff. im really stupid when it comes to this stuff so help me out tell me what you think please.

Seacrest out.

Three words... DON'T DO IT! You are better off trying to put your J30(a1, I'm not sure) head on a J35(Pilot or Odessey) block. Putting a B series in a 6th gen, probably any, Accord is not a good idea. They lack the torque to really get the Accord moving. I do not know much about the chassis for the 6th gen. V6... but do not try and put a B16 in there. You would honestly be better off trying an H22 swap if you dont want your J30. Also, search next time, this has been covered before.

h22,k24(if you got lots of money) but not a b series lack too like XiOus271 said. your just going to be revving realli high and not going anywhere! so cross off b-series on your swap list!

yeah man it's like putting a dirtbike motor in a dump truck . you'll be going nowhere fast. A b16 is way to small thnk about 1600cc engine verses 2200cc Oh wait Seacrest out you ***...

.I think weve been had.
I go into the fab forum all the time and ask if I can plug my three phase welder into a 20 amp outlet . I think they got wise though nobody answers anymore

the tL engine is a great platform i think ive seen about like 2 ppl on this forum that have done it. Though there are a limited amount of aftermarket parts that you can put on it but none the less its great right out of the box. i think redneck dave did this swap?

Sure man the h22 comes with a gt89100rs turbo and a full standalone Vtec controller with nitrous injection. vtec is set at 284^.98mhz to give a good blend of hp and torque . the jdm model is illegal in the us but you can have it taken apart and shipped in as parts. I guess the dmv doesn't want a car on the street with over 800 hp stock . just remember when you do the swap to get a duralast clutch from autozone they can handle the 700 pounds of torque no problem it will make parallel parking a whole new adventure

If you want more power, get the 3.2 (V6). If you want to build a 4 cyl. to make Power, get the H22.

*thud*

Your car has 200 hp and 195 tq.

If were even able to put any b-series motor in your car, you would be downgrading. A lot. Like, the car wouldn't move. The best b16 (stock) has, what, 160 hp and 111 tq? Yeah... the car wouldn't move.

You have a V6 Accord. To swap to a 4-cyl is way too much work. Either trade your car for a 4-cyl and then swap an h22, or keep the V6. It makes no sense to waste money buying a V6 Accord, just to throw the extra money out by ripping out the engine.

Please acquaint yourself with the search button, highlighted in red at very top right. I believe it's time to start doing some research.

The last year for the Prelude was 2001. You can still put a '99, '00, or '01 motor in a '99 Accord and be legal.

Dont you just hate when people want the same thing in their car that everyone has or talkes about?
Why cant you just create your own route with a V6 and show that kid that said "B16 and H-DeuceDeuce are da sheeznet, man!!!" that you dont need his retarted inputs on what to do. Be yourself, do a research on your engine, build your car the way you want to. And you will get mad props on it.
Back me up Philadd.

My guess is not a damn thing.

Trust me, I think it would be stupid to swap to an H22. At least in that car. I would much rather have the J30. Besides, if I really just had to make it faster, there's always the J32, or J35 block, or Comptech supercharger.

Whoever said to put a b16 in your Accord. Don't take any more advise from him. If you don't like the J30, the only thing that would be an improvement would be the 3.2 (TL engine). I don't see why you would want more than the J30 already has. If it's running like it should.

Tell this guy to put a b16 in his car, if he thinks it's so good.

Your J motor has more potential than the H motor or the B motor.

I know it's not very popular, but you should look at the recent six cylinder developments as a way to get more power (and more appropriately placed power) for your car, IMHO.

That would be way worse than my mom's '97 oddy with the F22B6.

The last accord you could probably put a B series engine in would be the third generation. The newer ones are just too big and heavy.
