Injen CAI Installation details
Hi guys, I'm planning to get the Injen CAI and can't find any installation details. Would like to know pros and cons, how to and what to expect when installing this thing. Installation pictures or video would be perfect but haven't been able to find anything yet. From reading forums, I know it's better than V2, chances of Hydrolocking are slim(true?). Someone said on a forum that you have to submerge the filter in water for it to hydrolock, please share any hydrolock horror stories also, if any. Thanks!
Hydrolock is near impossible if you are smart about where you are driving, and where you live. If you live in an area where it is constantly flooded a CAI is a bad choice. If you avoid puddles and keep in mind that your intake is near the ground you'll be fine. It definately is a nice power gain and sounds very good. In order to get hydrolock you have to nearly submerge the filter, nail the throttle enough to suck the water up the intake through the manifold into the cylinders, so just be careful.

i personally think installing cold air intakes is a bitch to do... it was the first procedure i have ever done myself and i enjoyed it, but it took me forever, im talkin like 5 hours, which sucked and it makes me feel stupid but it was well worth it. id go with CAI just read the instructions and remember the first time is the hardest.
its always a bitch the first time. especially if you've never done it on the specific car you are doing it on as every intake is different. first time took me almost 3 hours and having to take things apart over and over because i kept forgetting little things
You can find the Info on ClubRSX.com
1. Put the car in 5th gear
2. Take out the old air box and hoses, take out the battery.
3. Take off the front bumber
4. Take off the stock washer fluid bottle
5. Cut off a little hole out of the wheel well and try to stick the CAI pipe in to test fit.
6. Stick the CAI pipe in from the bottom and make sure there is at least 1 INCH clearance with the shifter or else it will rubbed against it.
7. Install the hoses required.
8. Installed the Windshield fluid that came with it.
9. Install the filter
10. Turn on the car and check for any leaks or rubbing. Then put everything back in (battery, bumber etc.)
