whats the size of the turbo it has, i'm assuming something extremely small at higher psi?

i heard Honda was working on a turbo diesel for their suv's and truck.

 

MAF is on the K20Z1, I think.

 

I saw the prototype at the Dallas Auto Show. Pretty cool looking and not too terribly big. It just said 2.4L turbo (I think it said 2.4L). Whats the rest of the specs, like power and torque wise? Is it a K motor?

The fact of the matter is that it will probably still be cheaper to turbo charge a K20 than buying one of these anytime soon.

That thing on the very bottom, is that for an AWD system?

How so? To my understanding this is based on the k-series?

Both Maf and Map are on the new Civics the base and the new Si.

I heard this as well, GM is supposively helping them design it because Honda helped design the motor in the 04+ Saturn Vue, etc..

 

I dont think that thing will fit under the hood in a eg/dc/ek without moving the intercooler.

I the transmission is gonna be a problem fitting this motor in a civic, unless a b series tranny will fit

 

it could be a maf but it looks like a gm throttle body (throttle by wire) crappy electronics..

 

maby its the pic but it loks like it came from a model car ;x like a 1:24 etc

i would assume its a turbo diesel for the ridgline (the rear diff send off makes me think 4x4 too). I've heard a lot of talk about that. But why in God's name would they run that tiny *** little top mount on a turbo diesel truck?

As stated, it's the turbo K24 for the new Acura RDX.

 

I read about this in a european magazine a month or so back. They said it was a k23 with a variable veign turbo running 12-14psi. I dont know how acurate that is...but thats what the magazine said.

Look how they have the cat in the stock downpipe. It just looks restrictive as hell. Ill bet an aftermarket dp is gonna do wonders for that thing.

I also read that the head casting is the same as the k20 that was in the ep SI. So you could prolly use an IM and TB off any other k20 and make mad power with a front mount IC.

BTW-If the veigns on the turbo are controlled by the ecu then youll prolly be able to adjust the trim of the turbo with hondata or any other ems

Or maybe a regular K series 2wd tranny?

They all have drive by wire now, including the SI and other models. Plus the maf, and map.

I can't wait to see this thing in the hands of the aftermarket world

 

to my understanding, honda traded the j35 found in the vue for a small displacement turbo diesel motor for european market civics
