Transmission fluid leak..
my transmission is leaking fluid right in between the casing.. in the front.. just noticed it yesterday.. i cleaned it all up to make sure where its comming from.. ( (it sits low as hell, I think I hit a bump and banged up the bottom) the tranny is very clean so i can tell its not comming from up top and dripping down .. if i drained the fluid and used some JB weld , would that hold it?
yeah, i want to.. but i dont want to pull the bastard out... ive never done it before and i don't really know how to go about doing it..
its not that hard to do.......just put a jack under the tranny, unbolt the motor mount, unbolt all the tranny mounts, remove the inspection plate, and take out old seal, and put in new one. But first, drain fluid, remove axle....should take about an hour.
I just did this last week and its pretty easy check out the FAQ for howtos on how to do it. Also check out the axle removal howto for addl help doing the axles. That helped me a lot. I'm slow it was my first time it took me a whole day to do it but i did do the clutch and rebuild the tranmission at the same time.
