Default Rev in neutral...nothing. Rev in gear...click click click?

I can't find out what the sound is because i have to put the car in drive to hear it. Is it safe to put it on bricks and try to drive it? I've checked everything. Help a brotha out. Thanks!

Well. It usually makes a sharp knock/click at higher rpms. I have an auto so usually around 3 to 4k. I usually don't even get up there, but when i'm on the highway i have to push it a little to merge. It doesn't seem to affect my performance. People have told me spark knock, rod bearings, loose bolts. I've checked as much as i can. Do you think it's safe to put it on bricks and drive it to find the noise?

does the rate of the clicking change with vehicle speed or engine speed? If engine speed, pull your spark plugs and see if they are white. that would be a sign of detonation. You better hope its not the rod bearings, that would be the worst case scenario.

It will change with vehicle speed because i can only hear it when i an moving. In drive. In neutral/park i can't hear it. I have a timing light i'm not sure exactly how to use it though. It doesn't have any marks ou the gun. I pulled my plugs and they looked identical to new ones but they were slightly whiter... Minimal at best. He i were to try to time the motor could that help if this is detonation? Thanks for the replies!

Usually, if you put your car on blocks and attempt to drive it, the sound will not occur, you need resistance on your tires, such as gravity and competetive interia. Pressure vs. No pressure...

if the clicking changes with vehicle speed, its probably not the engine. Check out your axle cv joints. Is the clicking any louder or more frequent while accelerating through a turn?

I don't know if it's his axels, may be, but you usually hear shot CV joints going out (the clicking sound) at lower RPM's, or when you're moving slower......at higher speeds (as the joints are moving faster) you won't exactly be able to hear a recognizable pattern of clicks, as it is to fast........it would just sounds like a fast sputter. Though, I have no doubts that it isn't the engine, it's apart of your drivetrain
