Default Question about Front License plate & Fix-It Ticket...

Sorry guys, too pissed to use zerosearch. I just got pulled over like 20 minutes ago, because some cop decided to let all the ******* camaros and trans ams with no front plates pass him, and singled me out for a ticket. It is a fix-it ticket and I need to go get it signed off.. My question is.. If I got get it signed off, and then remove the plate, and get pulled over a 2nd time, what is the penalty? I don't want a point removed or any **** like that... Also, is it hard to put a license plate on a JDM front? If it is, I think I might just use some fuggin double-sided tape. Thanks guys for the help in advance.

Just drill new holes in your USDM license plate so it conforms to the JDM holes

yes, DMV or cops don't keep track of fix-it tickets. All you pay is a court inspection/handling fee each time you go in for an inspection. You won't get away with using double sides tapes. I'm sure the marshall will actually come out and make sure the plate is tightly secured. Not sure how easily recognized your car is but if the same cop pulls you over again, he might remember your car since this time sounds like he pulled you over intentionally.

the fine has gone up in cali, chp told me first time is a fix-a-ticket, second time it's going to be a higher penalty.
they are enforcing the no front plate law cause the camera's at intersections take pictures of the front plates

i've gotten many fix-it tickets from damn cops, but it's cooled down lately. everytime i get one, i just go in and say that the front plate is on" and they usually just take it off or waive thewhole thing, if they ask further, just say u had to take it off for a fund raiser car show u were involved in ;D

BS works sometimes when people don't really care

Well, the officer told me I get a notification in the mail within a month.. But what happens if I get pulled over again before the notification comes.. Do I get another ticket? Or will they see the one I got already?

If you don't have your plate on by the time you get the ticket again, (pretending that you do) then show them your previously obtained citation. That should clear things up.

Edit- Oh yeah and for the inspection, double-sided tape won't do the trick. They "carefully" look at how your plate is mounted. (screwed on or zip-tied properly).

fix-it tickets don't go on ur record unless u don't take care of it within 2 weeks.
just take care of it ASAP, it doesn't even get into their system until about 2 business days.

just zip tie or put on ur front license plate in a lil ghetto way for now go down there, and say u have it fixed, they might come out and look at it, they might not, they probably won't because the hearing officer never gives a ****. so they'll waive it and sign it off, if they ask further, tell 'em what bout the fund raiser car show u were involved in and had to take 'em off, they could careless

You were luck your got a fix-it ticket. I have read some posts in the s2ki.com forums about people getting $100 tickets in the Bay Area for not having a front license plate without the option of a fix-it ticket.

dig this, the cops gave out 50 tickets to parked cars at my high school during class periods. They gave out no front plate, expiration stickers, no parking pass, etc. I get one for no front plate along with my other friends. It was a fix-it ticket, i got it signed off and i had to pay $10. Pretty retarded ticket.......some kids cars got towed for having an alarm, the cops said that you can't have an alarm around school property.........its all BS but they got in major trouble........

Are you sure that this is true everywhere? When I went to pay my fix-it in Newport Beach (SoCal) the officer asked which car was mine. I pointed to the car--standing 30 ft away--and he saw the plate and checked it off. They hardly pay attention. Personally I would try this first, what's the worst that can happen?

I heard that if I get a ticket for my Front End, like the whole thing, the fine is in the $300+ range, and that they can only issue it to me once... Is this right? I don't want to get stopped for my HIDs and my non-DOT approved housings..

A good excuse always gets me out of a ticket

"I apologize sir, I just got the car back from the body shop and they had to order the license plate bracket for the car. I have the plate right here in the car"

hehe

i think i am lucky when i had my gsr. I drove by cops for over a year and none bugged me for any front plates. Even with a front mount intercooler and clear corners. *knock on wood"
