Default Im curious if the Y-49 curse applies to this car as well?

So i noticed this Japanese crx on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

Most rhd crx's i see in north america are black. Heres a yellow one with rust. Im curious if the Y-49 curse lives in japan too? Y-49...it'll get ya!

The description says newer paint and the engine bay is black so Im assuming its not originally yellow..No curse there and it doesnt look like Y49 anyway,,atleast not like mine..Mine turns more white when light hits it then yellow like in those pics

IMO its not worth that much at all, the reserve is set at 8k+ for that much you could have the most immaculate crx in the U.S., and then spend the rest on abounch of overpriced jdm fad ****.

Besides, Y-49 does'nt mean that you will automatically crash your rex the day you drive it home. It just means Y-49 owner, including my self, have had more problems with our crx's in general. Before I recieved my 88' Y-49 in 98', it was backed into twice by a UPS truck crushing the hood, maybe that has something to do with the Y-49, or just that the crx is so small that if you are to close the truck driver can't see you.

It depends how your look at it -
You can buy a PLUSH siR and have it imported to Canada for less then the $8250 reserve price, and it will be titled in Canada just the same.
You COULD just buy a clean USDM CRX, but it cost our good friend SpeedFreak $9k+ and like said above, you still have to Afind and pay a ton for all the JDM **** and B.Go through the trouble of installing, etc.
I would however say it's worth it based on:
All the JDM stuff people riff and call overpriced (that they know they want) is the ****, and it comes installed already.
Also it comes with a B16.
Oh, and who did all the work? Honda.
You know it was done right. It's not some swapped, re-wired CRX. It's done as properly as it ever could have been.
Plus man, it's RHD with a Glasstop, I mean come on, can you argue with that?
PLUS, you can go buy it RIGHT NOW. If any of us had the money and desire, we could hop on a plane, fly there, and drive off in it, today.

BUT, like I said, for the 8 grand area, you can get something MUCH cleaner that hasn't been riced. I mean ****, look at his stickers on there. And the guy actually f-ed up a RHD siR dash to drill on some gauges? No thanks, I'll pass.....I'm currently in the market for a siR and this one makes me wanna jump the gun, but screw it, it aint worth it to me. If I'm gonna do it, Im doin right!

PS - That doesnt look like Y-49 either (and the curse IS real)
PSS - There's also a CRX VT on there for considerably less money.

GocrxGo, i assume you were reffuring to my post, so in response, hell yea it would be cool to have a ligit jdm crx, but for what all is done/wrong with that car its not worth it. 9k+ for a hella clean USDM Crx?? I havent ever seen one go for that but i might be wrong. And when i say pay a ton of money for some jdm fad ****, sure their is some jdm stuff i want but their is a ton of **** i wouldnt buy like rims i have seen the most ******* ugly *** rims they looked like oversized pennys with lines cut in them, but remember their hella rare jdm yo.

Its the paint code for the yellow crx's and basicly from what i have gathered they tend to have to worst luck and get damaged totaled ect.

I personally don't think anything of this "curse" I think it has more to do with people that drive yellow cars than the car color itself.

When I said one sold for 9k, that was a (i think) 22K original mile SI with all the usdm options, it was very nice but overpriced.
I agree the JDM wheels are garbage, but your not buying those. your buying a glasstop, your buying a leather steering wheel, pwr mirrors, leather seats, a back seat, pwr windows, maplight, all that. Then you can take off the spoiler, sell it, and it''s like the siR comes with a $100 rebate

The Y-49 curse is true IMO I've seen/heard of alot of them biting the dust, and when I tried to get one, it's curse provented me from getting it, even though I paid for it and shipping and everything! (got my money back for sure though)
