any exaust shop can bend it so it clears. Putting material on a hot exaust is not a good idea. Just take it some where and have it fixed.

 

did you bolt the header to the bracket that hangs down from the back of the block?

one way to do it is to bend the hangers inward, so you get a >< (that being a cross section) kinda deal with the muffler underneath that,

sorry for bad pic, anyways, this way the hangers will act as springs from the muffler bumping up against hte chassis, just make sure they're hooked up right first...gl

its a K series and it doesnt have springs because it is a race header.

The hangers would have nothing to dow ith that though. There is one hanger on the race header and that one is not even connected because it will crack the header. And yes I know thats what is not making it hit.

and the exhasut is on the firewall side...not having springs between the header and the cat would definatley cause it.

No I do not think you understand what a race header is. With a k series they waive the cat. In return they bolt up to where your end of the cat would bolt up. That is why there is flex pipe in the middle instead of the springs look at the pic i just posted

 

that thing looks pretty sweet,
my guess is that its not flexing enough so under hard acceleration your motor is acctually pushing the whole exhaust

its an EP it isnt my car its a friends

 

just take it to a muffler shop and have them bend the pipe slightly, let me guess it's hitting the gas tank

Dude he understands. IT doesnt matter if its hitting the body or the gas tank or whatever the point is your friend needs to take to the muffler shop and have the exhaust modified slightly to fix the problem...

 

or you could just put the wood back

well i have answered the same question about 4 times it gets old if people are going to post half *** then they should post i hate when people do that. It's lazyness. Yes it does need to be modified but A) why take it there when i have a welder. B) If it was a clamp to use I think I can handle tighting some screws. C) if you bend a mid pipe down ward it will make a crush bend there for being about as shitty as a stock exhaust.

and i would stick that wood in there again but it will just fall out. Wood yes can start on fire but a blank like that isnt and if it does he has insurance.
