Do you smell gas at any time? It might be leaking out. How does the engine run? Good, Bad?

Did you clean out your egr system? EGR Ports getting clogged is a very commom problem with these cars

1. you have to remove injectors and fuel rail
2. drill out rivits holding access cover on intake
3. clean out EGR passages using pipe cleaners along with with intake cleaner (or brake fluid if you take the intake OFF)
4. clean the access cover
5. clean EGR valve
6. drill and tap threads for 2 10MM bolts about 2 cm long where the rivits were holding the access plate on

You could also have a bad Engine Coolant Temperature sensor.

Yeah, get that checked out. There was another thread not that long ago, of someone with a similar problem regarding bad gas mileage, after he changed alot of other things, it turned out to be the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor in the end.

The Engine Coolant Temp sensor has nothing to do with whether or not your car is warming up or gettintg hot. If the ECT is bad, your performance will not suffer, but your economy will. It is the sensor that tell your computer that the engine is warm and to allow sensor input to control fuel and fire. If it is bad not only will you be running on a rich fuel map, but your EGR will not be enabled and your O2 sensor will not be allowed to lean the mixture either.
