Oil Presure Sending Unit
ok a while back i had a bad leak from the oil pressure sending unit on my car (93 acc lx)
i replaced the sending unit with a new one and it ran fine for about 2 months and ruptured today. (advance unit, im getting an OEM honda one tomorrow)
today it started leaking again, from the same place, so im assuming the sending unit is ruptured again.
Is it possible that my oil pressure is so high thats its causing this?
ive always had a problem with the dipstick not reading the oil levels correctly as well.
Today i took a rifle cleaner and cleaned out the oil returns in the valve cover, but nothing seemed to be backed up. I also sprayed some seafoam deep creep in each of the returns hoping that if anything is clogged in there it will break it up.
I also replaced my PCV valve about 3 months ago with an advance auto one. if this was faulty could that cause the pressure to build up like it is? (the valve clicks constantly, kinda like the "test" in the helms manual describes)
Im at a loss of ideas, and i cant go dropping a new OPSU every 2 months.

The honda sending unit should take care of your problem. I highly doubt that your oil pressure is too high. You better check to be sure that's what is leaking though. There are a number of things that would cause an oil leak in that area.
it's not the the sensor that giving you the trouble it's the weak mount that might have a hairline crack in it.
it's very easy to crack the mount, alot of turbo guys running a Tee fitting off the sensor mounting hole crack the mount.
clean it up right good and look at it close.
don't forget to put telfon tape before install

yeah i know that.
i have to get under it and look to be sure (obviously)
i dont have the oil cooler, so i know its not that.
i know its not the filter.
the valve cover gasket is new, and when i took it off i got a good look behind and its not from that neither.
so im assuming is the oil pressure sending unit again.
so let me ask this question.
i noticed when i installed the last one that there isnt any kind of gasket or O ring on it, its pipe threaded.
so i just put some thread sealant on it and tightened it down fairly tight.
is there anything else i should do?
