Default Swift Spring Build up Thread

-Well i thought id do a little Build up on the Swift springs. I Currently own a 1994 Honda Civic DX. I did many suspension modifications to it. The Best one i would have to say was swapping out my springs on the Current coilovers that i own.

- well step one... taking the coil overs out of my car ....

-step 2 i decided to go ahead measure the springs against the Zeal springs on my Function B6 Coilovers. Here is the Result

Zeal springs weighted in at 2.4 LBS

Swift...2.2 LBS wich is only .2 of a pound in sprung mass but it adds up to alot more weight in terms of on sprung mass .. .. theres a Plus!!

as you can see ... its the same in size and length, even in Thickness.

These Springs are designed with a special blend of diffrent Metals they use. The Spring is Lighter, stronger, as well as more linear!
This means that the spring will NEVER change in spring rate no matter how much it is compressed! That is the Diffrence between swift and all other spring companys. If you are anything like me ( a suspension *****) then you will love these. If you are a Noob looking for the stiffest set up .. these are not for you!! if you want REAL suspension ... these are for you. As far as standart springs swift offers , there only force certain applications. There not for being the lowest, but more for the optimal handling characteristics. But if you Currently own Coilovers .. these are also a great option as well!!!

They actually Very in Color due to the Diameter of the coilover replacement springs. but yes these ones are baby Blue. I did an NSX as well on Tein Coilovers (flex) and those were gold.

you guys should really get your facts stright, you would think after coming in here trying to ***** them out at least 5 or 6 times you would know what your OWN website says about the springs "linear-ness" (think i made that word up).

These very well maybe be high quality springs but you are insane if you think you could tell the difference between a swift spring, a H&R spring, an Eibach spring, or an Hyperco spring.

I'm also curious about this "more linear" business. How is that determined exactly, and is there a documented comparison?

This thread sounds more like a commercial than a "build-up"...

Anyways...Why would people take advice about suspension & handling upgrades from a guy who's signature reads "If its not straight lines .... WHO GIVES A F....."?

PS: Only half your spring is "On-sprung" weight.

i did an upgrade that really made a bigger diffrence then i thought it would so i 'd thought id share it ... but like your mama said when you were younger ... if you don't have anything nice to say you don't need to say anthing at all!!!

You know, the brand of spring has little to do with how stiff the spring rate is.

[QUOTE=SiRalex16v]There not for being the lowest</TD></TR></TABLE>

Why not? Do they coil bind sooner than eibach, hyperco, etc?

How does this "special blend" give the car better handling over an Eibach spring?

FWIW, I have always run Eibach springs and their quality has been great for me. I will change set up at the track quite often, sometimes by 50# of spring rate on each corner. They've always been great for me, I have a whole stack of them in the garage. I race my car, not take it to car shows. And that doesnt mean canyon carving.

Can we change this forum to the flame forum? Jesus ******* christ. If you don't support some HT approved name brand ie Comptech, Skunk2, Koni, GC, everyone will drop in and say they've been using those brands and their car hasn't blown up so you're stupid for trying something new (with the exception of Skunk2 where some people's cars HAVE actually blown up).

I'm an Eibach sportline fan myself. Like the rest of these ********, I have experience with their product and it hasn't failed me so I stick to what I know. I just don't share their ****-like brand loyalty patrolling these boards for the opportunity to flame.

They wouldn't talk **** to your face. They'd probably jizz their pants to see your car in person.

track Gurus? LOL ... ok ...as far as im concerned, thats all honda tech is good at is Flamming ... if ppl actually discussed things .. Versus being so quick to flame and act like they everything then maybe there would be alot more to get out of these "track gurus" or whatever and this cite.

Nobody is patrolling around looking for brands to flame...

It's just that when threads about brands & products show up that a person has never heard of, it really gets their attention. It can, however be pretty disappointing when you find that the authors post is only composed of opinion, design theory and advertising mumbo-jumbo...

Sometimes that can frustrate the reader, and they feel they must post a response (even if it's not something positive). I have found that even though it may seem negative, it can sometimes open up serious debates about products that do end up leading us to factual evidence about performance etc (like in the "Ryane" thread). Don't be mad because the design theories get debunked. Just take the information for what it's worth...

ok .. well ive had a set of H&R race on this car before .. i liked em alot .. felt a little soft for my taste and making the shock doing a little more work then they should ... atleast for the way i like the car to feel. ... after all everyone has a diffrent way of doing things ... and the way i feel .. you build the car around your driving style and what you like not the other way around. so ya ... H&R were not that bad at all ..

on another one of my previous cars years ago ... i have Eibach Pro Kits .. Loved em. Very nature weight transition ... smooth when it leans ... then i went to a sportline... i like them as well .. definatly a little more harsh but definatly kept the tire to the pavement.

i had Tein Flexs ... they ride nice... but more of a comfort coil over for me ... Ive notice in all these suspension set ups along with running koni shocks and tockicos they all had one quality that i didn't like at all .. when the springs would compress the KG rating would vary .. the more compressed .. the stiffer they get. This cause the car to bounce or even get wheel skip in the corners.

now i did these swift springs ... my buddy works over there and told me to try a set out... see if i like them since im always playing in the canyon roads... now considering the fact that i have Zeal Function B6... i didnt really see my need for improvement... but .. it really was a night a day diffrence.

so for you "track gurus" i thought id share my experience alont with some pix just to show you for your information .. and yes i ended up keeping the spring and Purchasing them. i Think if you do alot of autcross or canyons where you have to worry about bumps and what not ... that you will appreciate these like i did. Personally i don't give a **** if you buy them or not .. just trying to help you guys out ...

the special blend of metal they use helps in the fact that its lighter then all other springs on the market.. i tested that fact against the Zeal springs ... Tein spring and Eibach... Tein being the heaviest, Eibach next in line , and Zeal still a little heavier then the swifts as you see in the pix. Swift also did compressing tests on their springs . They did outlast and out perform all the other major spring manufacturers.

Remember .. if you order K office, Zeal (upgrades) ect.) those are swift springs on those coils ... as well as well known track companies such as Spoon Sports is working with swift in japan and the US.

Yes .. I completly agree that Eibach is a World wide used spring... i had a set .. i liked them ... but swift is starting to come out more and more ... JGTC300 and 500, Time attacks in Japan, Nascar in the US, slowly making it out to Rally, auto cross... its there ... do i honestly think swift is a better spring ... yes... but also consider they are more expensive

-Far from an attention ***** ... especially since you don't even hardly see me on here (let me get attention PLEASeee... i need your attention ... LMAO)
ACTUALLY that the good thing about them .. is that They Dont bind at all.... vrs. eibach and the rest will.... They aren't stiffer just better characteristics. as i explained in the last post
and canyon carving isn't exactly a bad thing... its actually just as difficult as the track due to all the hazards you can come accross and what not ... but you might just be too cool for that...
