the tach in my 91 dx is actin weird. when i give it gas the needle pegs down to zero and when im not on the gas its bounces around and doin what it ever it wants. any help with this?

 

if its an after market tach pull it out and check you wiring but if its an si cluster do the same thing, you might have wires crossed or something simple like that

 

its all factory but im def gonna check the wiring again

 

somtimes this problem occurs when you have a bunk *** distibutor, try a different one to see if it solves the problem.

 

go to the dizzy and cut the plastic a little or make sure the green wire to/from dizzy isn't cut

 

I have a similar problem with my del sol, its the standard cluster. I have just replaced my distributor as well, so it cant be that. But when im driving my tach jumps all over the place, but when idling its fine.
