what car do you have? has it been converted to OBD1? is new engine DOHC? do you mean intake manifold from SOHC ZC?

did you get complete engine or just the head? you can't easily put the DOHC head on the SOHC engine, if that is what you are trying to do - SOHC intake manifold will not fit DOHC ZC head - header will bolt up but ports don't line up exact - you need to grind out the header to match the ports in the head - fairly easy job

let me try again - did you get the complete block with head and valve cover? just missing intake manifold and header? to bolt the OBD1 block into your car, you would need to swap the mount on the driver's side end of the block from your SOHC onto the DOHC - rest of mounts are on the transmission - you would need DOHC ZC intake manifold - use the SOHC injectors - you would need 88-89 Integra distributor and CYL position sensor

ok thanks, i swapped and obd1 d15b vtec a year ago and used the same intake and headers, so i thought they r the same with the obd1 dohc ZC, cuz the ZC i got said D16A a D series, i thought all D series are the same withe headers and intake, and answering ur question yes i bought the complete block with head and valve cover, i'm still using my obd0 intake from the old sohc zc and PM6 ecu and the sohc ZC distributer and they all work finr with d15b vtec obd1

dont waste your money on that head w/o the bottom end or a d16a8?? i think thats the code its from an 88-89 integra comonly called the "brown top"

the dohc zc head will not fit the sohc block

the d15b is basicaly a d15b7 bottom end with a z6 head with the pistons and cam being a little different from the d15b7 and d16z6

just keep this in mind

anything from a d series will fit on a d series

anything (almost everything) from a b series will not fit on a d series but will fit on any B coded block

Therefor i just supplied you with a full 20 weeks in college

ok i know that thanks, but the engine i got d16a is written on it. NOT ZC, so it will fit right? cuz the d15b vtec worked on my sohc ZC intake and headers!1

Actually a d15b single stage vtec is really a d15z1 block with a D16z6 head and slightly better camshaft..

Im not really understanding your question at all... in the first post you say you have a obd1 zc now you say you have a D16a that you're swapping inplace of the current engine which is a D15b vtec..If the new engine is not a ZC then it may not fit ..Whats the whole engine code..?

If your motor has d16a stamped on it, then that's what it is, and it is not a ZC, unless someone somehow restamped it. Post a pic and we'll be able to tell what it is.
