I bought a 92 gs-r a while ago and it has been sitting for about 4 months in my driveway. I would start it occasionaly and now I am selling my daily driven DA so I had to get my gs-r up and running. The car used to start just fine and after it sat for a while the battery was just trash so I kept jumping the car to start it.

I bought an optima battery today and hooked it up. At first I tuned on the lights to see if they would come on, and I don't think they did. I turned the key and hit the lights, and then the head lights and dash lights came on. Once I turned the key I heard a click and all of my lights shut off (every light, head lights, dash lights...etc) I don't know what the hell is going on. I kept trying to start the car and it just kept clicking and shuting off ALL the lights when I turned the key.

The weird thing is I started the car on Sunday, by jumping it with the old battery in there and it started just fine. Also I checked the new battery and it was at 12.6 Volts with the key off and engine off.

I was trying to check the battery Fuse, and I went to pull the fuse out and it wouldn't budge, so I grabbed a pair of pliers and the plastc was really brittle and it broke. So in the morning I am going to get a fuse. Anyone have any ideas?

 

are you using the right key?

check if your ground is lose. Happen to me before.

 

yeah check the ground wire. Also check for metal contact.

Solved. It was just a bad connection. The little red rubber boot that goes over the + terminal was covering a lot of corrosion.
