Got in a accident . . pics
Well, I hit some metal plates in the road late last night by some railroad tracks at around 11:00pm last night going around 10mph. DIdn't even see them whatsoever. Here are the pics of the car before and after the accident. Apparently my innovative crossmember was the one that kissed the plates.

I took off the bumper before the tow truck came cause it was hanging and didn't want to ruin it. (THere was no damage to the bumper or hood).

My question is how much do you guys think it would take to repair this. As for suspension parts I work at honda so I get them cheap. I am worried about the frame.

For going 10mph that thing looks like it twisted ... best bet is to get a quote from the shop. I don't see that being more then a $600 +/- job seeing as how all parts were in tact.
Yeah it freaking sucks. Got to use the station wagon to get to work now. Insurance is not going to cover that and plus if it did my car would be totalled and I would have to buy it back. I am hoping it won't cost too much. Im a racer on a budget.
if i were u, i would pull all the parts off and check to see if the frame is damaged. If it is, get a cheap engine and swap it in and tell the insurance. Take off all ur parts u want tho haha.

I would buy a radiator support, $70 on ebay, and maybe a fender, then take it and the car to the body shop, ask them to straighten the car out and weld the radiator support and fender on(easy to put on, but let them do it for front end alignment purposes), then take it home and start putting it back together.
thats an easy fix, it got hit in the left front and swayed the nose over to the right. replace the rad support, they can pull the nose back over and re-align everything pretty easily, you'd be amazed at how fast a frame machine will pull that right back over. just as it did'nt take much to do that damage, it won't take much to fix it, these cars are'nt very strong.

Sorry to see that. Man for 10mph that some rough damage.
A body shop should be able to put that back in its place for a reasonable price.
I thought it was a unibody, not frame? Unibodys have the advantag of being able to have sections removed and replaced. Nowadays its no big thing to fix them.

Well, if anybody is interested I am going to try to tow it to some collision place by my work, I will let you know what they say bout it. I was planning on runnin it at fontana on the 22nd but don't think that's happening. THanks for the support though.
I had a similar accident where I was going about 10 mph and slid on black ice into a wall, damage was almost identical. Unfortunately, it was enough to bend my frame and quite a bit. I tried to allign it several times, but was unable to get it even half way decent. If it steered decent, the tires wore unevenly as hell, and otherwise it ad a lot of pull. shops quoted me just under a $1000 to bend it back
Well, the body shops I went to today said it's a twisted mess. They quoted $3000 +. So I guess Elizabeth is going to be laid to rest. Sad day. Now I am going to have to buy another crx.

yep, I saw from the pics that the frame was bent no doubt. hate to see that, exact same thing happened to my DA GSR last august, I was only going 5-7 mph and hit a dip right by a man hole cover. bent my frame so far out that it dead stopped me and even pulled out my pass. side axle from the inner joint, coulkd not even drive the car until the frame got pulled. luckily for me the frame pull was only $200.00 because I have a friend that works for a body shop, just replaced the lower control arm, spindle, radius rod and lower crossmember.
my wheel was pushed all the way back also but I do not have that pic, just how crooked the front was afterwards**crazy**!!

Yeah anywhere from 500 too 100 just on the straightening. I did it once myself. First I put it in the air on a jig I made. Measured diagonally and across at good reference points. Also from parallel front to back. Pulled it into shape until it was within an eighth every direction. Allignment can correct upto ulmost a half of an inch. Dont give up on it. Just try it or paid to get it done. Cant make it any worse.
Not really sure what to do with it. I am going to start looking for a crx shell and just put everything on to that. Hate to do this to elizabeth but I don't exactly have too many options. IT was my daily driver.

Well bro sorry about your luck, but I think it'll work out to your advantage.
Get a shell and swap everything over.
You'll:
A. End up with a driveable CRX on the same level as elizabeth
B.Have a ton of extra nuts/bolts/parts
C.When your done you'll have extra parts to sell aswell.
D.Get a sawzall and hack your fram up, throw it in a truck, and sell it to the scrap yard for some $$$
If you can't pull enough money for a clean new shell off the parts/frame somethings wrong.
Look at this as you opportunity to do it up from the start - get the model you want, get the color you want, get the year you want. When this happened to me I was going to get a 88 SI Y-49 CRX, b/c thats my fav. year/model/color, nbut then I decided to do what you should too.....sell everything off, and get an siR
