timing gone wrong or not
i had to adv. my dizzy all the way just to get it to 18 degrees before TDC. it is on the center line of the 3 grouped together on the crank(i think that is 18). and that is with my dizzy all the way adv. so i thought my timing was alittle off. so i retimed my car again. it is dead on and the same exact thing is happening. i have to adv my dizzy all the way to get it to run at 18 degrees TDC. what is doing this. The only way I can get the ignition timing within spec is to advance both cams (otherwise the car won't run - check engine light, etc.), but when I do this, the TDC marks are completely misaligned and I lose a lot of top end power (probably because they're now too advanced).
You have to remember, all of these motors are USED and you have no way of knowing what's been done to them previously. I'm thinking that my head was previously milled some amount and now I need adjustable cam gears to compensate for the altered timing belt geometry.
help anyone this sucks i have no power and its not the dizzy i dont think its new.
