please help if possible
Hi, i have a 92 civic with an 2000 ITR swap... my question doesnt concern my car, it is about my engine... For about 2 weeks now my car started blowing out white smoke when i first start it up and when i left of the gas at mid rpm (under v-tec)... so of course i was concerned, thinking it could be a crack in the block, or blown head gasket. I decided to check it out and see what i could find. Ever since i have had this engine it has been eating oil... i know many ITR's do this when in v-tec a lot of the time... which of course this is my weekend ride so im usually racing it... I use Full synthetic oil and i figured that if it ate a little oil, then no big deal... Well when i was looking at my car i noticed that the bottom of the distributor was soaked in oil and had been leaking over my trans... i ran my finger under the distributor and it covered my hand... so my question is what do you think it is...
Im thinking its some kinda cam seal that has to keep the distributor clean, like an o-ring or something... I was just guessing that its broken or worn out... if you have any idea what it is please post it, and post where i can buy a new one. (besides dealer)
Thanks
ryan
