decided to strip the rota slips this weekend with aircraft stripper. 1 spray can and 1 liquid can later they aren't even fully stripped. the very last layer of paint or whatever they use as the first coat is SLOWLY chipping off.
anything out there stronger than aircraft? i'm only 80% done with the outer spokes and all, still have the inner wall to strip

HAH good luck..I tried the same thing this weekend..Lets say its cheaper to have them sandblasted...Your gonna spend more on the aircraft stripper...Mine are gettin sandblasted tommorow..
some rubber gloves and some steel wool + aircraft stripper is your new best friend. Put some effort into it and it'll be just fine. I had a tough time with mine too.

did you let the aircraft set in and do its work then scrubbed...or did you just sprayed on and scrub right away?
thanks

good luck. wear gloves or else ur hands will be black for a week. there is a tutorial somewhere on here. i think i read start with grit 400 sandpaper and work up to 1500 grit. i polished mine, the results are amazing. when ur done and ready to polish, buy blue magic i think its called and use a buffer..works wonders.
search my name i just recently posted some pics. good luck

FYI, you dont need to go down to bare metal to paint your wheels, just and down the best you can to get the clearcoat off and repaint unless you have random chipping and need the surface flattened.

i'm guessing sandblasting would be a little more than aircraft, but i already bought aircraft twice so i overspent
i have access to a sandblaster so maybe i'll try that next

i'm going to just strip the rest of the outer area/spokes and just paint over the inner wall...these are my sport wheels anyway, i'll be picking up a set of mugen rnr's in flack black w/ red lip for daily driving
. thanks
