NEED MOTOR HELP

i just got a 97 civic with a b18c and the guys that i bought it from says its jdm and other people are telling me that its usdm i was just wondering how you can tell if it is usdm or jdm??

does it have a number after b18c?
like b18c1 or b18c5

yea ive also heard that if the valve cover is red it is so JDM and my valve cover is black
