how to change pilot bearing. i've search.
sohc vtec. changing clutch. got a new pilot bearing that i want to replace. is there any write up or anyone that can tell me how to remove the pilot bearing and put in a new one.

the old one is in the center of your flywheel, just take a socket the size of the pb and smack out the old one.... then to replace your new one do the same thing just in reverse order. Might have lube it up might not make sure the bearing seats all the way in the groove

you will have to remove the flywheel to change the pilot bearing. The only special tool you will need is a 12 pt socket (i think 17mm) to remove the bolts that hold the flywheel onto the crank
i got the flywheel out with no problem. just dont want to hit it too hard or with the wrong tool and mess up the pilot bearing. should i use a piece of wood when hitting it back in?
What you DON'T want to do is hit the new pilot bearing on the inner race while tapping it in. Get a socket that fits around the outer race and tap it in.
Throw the bearing in the freezer for awhile to shrink it - might help a little.

It's an oil seal right behind the flywheel. Kind of one of those "while you're there" type of things since you'll have to tear all that out again to replace it should it need replacing.
Do you have any oil leaks coming from that area?

I would as well suggest putting a cloth over the bearing while smacking it into place, therefore you won't damage the exterior

Sorry to bring up old post, but yeah I have oil leaks coming from the visible part of the flywheel under the engine, is that cuz of my rear main seal is probably bad..??

incorrect, if you are going to smack a bearing in, without a bearing driver. you want to hit the inside race, not the outside
