Default Stalling problem on 90 Civic LX

Ok....so I've had this strange stalling problem for the past few months and I can't figure out what it is. The car is fine as long as I don't give it more than 10% throttle, but as soon as I go past that under load, the engine will stall. I've just replaced plugs/wires and the fuel filter and the cap, rotor and igniter were replaced a few months before the problem started. After I did the plugs and wires and fuel filter yesterday, I drove it around for a couple hours with no issues. Then when I drove it to work today, it stalled 20 min into the ride.

I should say that after the cap, rotor and igniter were replaced, the tach would go wacky above 3500rpm. I just dealt with it as I only use this car as a commuter.

Any ideas?

have you checked your TPS sensor for dead spots?

If you need a new one I can hook you up.

Sorry...I edited my post with some more info. I was able to drive it yesterday with no problems. Would a TPS with bad spots do this intermittantly?
