Default check engine light

in short.....my check engine light turned on in fall....i put a high flow cat on and extended my o2 sensor about 2 months ago.....last week i went to start my car and the check engine light blinked like usual before started but then stayed on....when my check engine light was off my car didn't suck gas but both times the check engine light has been on it sucks gas badly! i went through a 1/2 tank in 2 days with a total of about 150 miles on that 1/2 tank....usually i have 150 miles off of a 1/4 tank and get about 450 to a tank.....does anyone know wuts wrong?? i haven't checked the code but i dont know how to....i had a thread like this during winter and they tried to explain how but they had shitty pictures...help me out if you can....

Listen, you're getting shitty mileage because something is wrong, you said you didn't know how to check the code, I showed you the link with step by step instructions. What other help do you want?

The blue plug is on the passenger side near the door, you stick 1 piece of wire into the holes and the code will flash on the cluster.

Depending on what the code is, the CEL will throw the ecu into limp mode, which means wasting major gas.

theres a plug on the passenger kick panel. put a paper clip to connect both holes. then turn on your car. the CEL will blink out your code. long for 10, short for 1, and long pause means next/new code
