Default H22 in CRX.. front heavy O.o

Ok ok.. first I have looked all over this thread and havnt found a answer to my question. if I have over looked it please send me to it

Anyway.. I wanna swap a H22 into my 90 Crx.. but I have heard stuff from friends.. that its way to heavy for a CRX front in.. one said he did it and.. this and that gave and his front end hit the ground. and another said that it will under or over steer.. or so crap like that.. but then again these are the people who told me that to put Vtec.. on a Honda.. is to put a valve cover that reads Vtec on the engine...anyway.. could someone.. tell me what is needed to keep my crx from nose diving....-_-

Your front end wont do a nose dive. I suggest finding new friends. I just put a H22 in my crx on :gasp: factory suspension. I think it came down less than inch....if that.

Wiring isnt that hard either. If you have an HF or Si your almost set. I used my Si harness extended the alternator wires and that was pretty much it. The JDM H22 uses low impedance injectors like the crx so i didnthave to switch those and I can keep the resistor box.

Do a search for H22 weights. Someone here on Honda-tech actually weighed B, D, and H series motors. Difference in weight between B and H was negligible.

Don't listen to all the BS about H series significantly throwing off weight distribution.

Youre looking at a 40-60lb weight difference between H and B series. Its nothing major and the torque is worth it.

The weight difference is very minimal from a chubby GSR and a H22. About 30 lbs difference. My 90 crx hf H22A weighed in at 2000 lbs without me in it. Please check out my site for all the EF H22A how to. We also make the EF H22A motor mount kit...

Adding weight to your call will always affect handling. Especially if you don't upgrade and tune the suspension to balance the car out. Having a heavy nose is a bad thing for handling.

Also remember that adding weight means that you need more torque to pull the car around. Look up engine weights, you will gain about 100 lbs with that engine. Depends on how much you like to corner.

Well I have my mind set on doing this swap, and yes I like to corner alot.. its liek the best thing to do.. so I guess Im going to have to look into suspension aswell to balance me car hmm ok then no worries I think I can handle that

A way to reduce the weight on this swap a little bit is to use the H to B adapter plate to mate the H series to the B series tranny.

to keep the facts right and straight up the weight difference between a H series tranny and a B series tranny is about a 1 lb lol for street and track H series tranny! track only B series, difference in the 1/4 mile between the two trannies tenths of seconds not seconds a set of cams or a good tune will cover the difference...
