there is no JDM d16z6, if theres an add its a misprint or possible its a canadian motor. JDM motors never have a number on the end.

sure, if you want a low mileage motor thats a plug and play swap get a D15b vtec.

the z6 is a usdm version of the D15b. they make the same power, theres a few differances internally, but thats it.

the power is the same, its .1 liter smaller, 1.5 instead of 1.6, but the increased compression and more aggresive cam make them equal in power.

I think he read the original post wrong....

He was saying what's a JDM D16, is it the equivalent of a USDM D16Z6. What is it the equivalent of in USDM

You kinda by-passed what he was asking I think

92-95 ex/si will all have the D16z6. and some year del sol. if you are ordering a motor just make sure its a D16z6 or a JDM D15b vtec.

The D15b is not the JDM D16Z6 version. The JDM D16Z6 version is a ZC VTEC, both are 1.6 and are identical unlike the D15b and D16Z6. Hit up hmotorsonline, they carry some once in a while.

that is correct, didnt even think about that one.but its very hard to find the gen. 2 zc, and cost more than the z6 and D15b.

we agree, but you got to make sure the zc is vtec and obd1 for it to be equivelant. i havent seen them listed on http://www.hmotorsonline.com before, but see them on ebay. they cost a good bit to be a sohc, so they arent popular.

best option, In my opinion, is the JDM D15b vtec, its $430 from hmotors. and low mileage, the performance is the same, and its 100% bolt in, no wiring changes are needed, no new ecu, no new tranny. just bolt it in.
