Default Thinking about a RS-R ExMag for a Civic HB 96. Are those exhaust good?

I want a good/high performace full exhaust system that has a stock loook to it but still has good sound wen v-tec kicks in. I was looking at some RS-R Exmag exhaust system. They look realli nice. and I also saw sum Dyno for them. Not bad. but I really want your guys opinion, cuz i am sure u guys know alot more then i do. check it out.

Please tell me if guys know anything bout these exhaust? is it worth the money? thanx alot. by the way, Im gonna swap in a B16A Gen 2 into the hatchback once i get enough money, the exhaust will come in after i get my swap done. So the exhaust is for a b16a G 2 engine not the HB stock engine. thanx alot!

Not a wonderful performance exhaust by any means, but it's damn quiet and a very nice sounding exhaust. It's either that or the A'PEXi World Sport II which looks like this.

No, not really, both exhausts have big resonators and big mufflers. You're not going to get optimum performance out of either. The WS2 will run you $425 or so, and it sounds great.

What do you plan on doing to the car?

i had to chime in. I am going to be running a turbo w/ this exhaust. I understand that there are definetly better options for making max power. The fact of the matter is this exhaust makes more power and looks better than stock and is definatly worth the loss of 10 whp compared to some of the other exhausts on the market (n1, tanabe, ect) because of the simple fact its quiet. better for daily driving and better for stayin out of trouble. not to mention. it is possible to run a cut out for the track

get the rsr gt2. straight piping design, better for any application, and loud is a byproduct of performance. but imo the rsr is best of all worlds, but hard to find

hahahahaha...are you serious? if you have a super loud exhaust tip does this mean performance? no it sure doesn't

well you can get an exhaust sytem that has a silencer... looks nice adds power and keeps it quiet in the car... not so much for outside. did you say you were gonna run a turbo on the exhaust? or was that someone else cause if you plan on boost youll need at least 3" piping.

2.5INCH PIPING I THINK WILL BE MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR A MILD SOHC TURBO SETUP. BUT I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUt (sorry about the caps) a universal 3 inch apex world sport which i am debating about.

i'm making ~ 300whp with mine. it's pretty restrictive but worth it on a daily

e-cutout picks up like 35whp over it

ok KINGSOL18 completely misunderstood what i wrote, i was saying loudness is what you get when you modify a car. if you run a turbo and need 3'' or 4'' exhaust piping you cant expect it to be super quiet restrictive makes for quietness......................................... .................................................. ..............................................you are trying to say if your exhaust is loud you get perofrmance, i am saying performance mods make for loud.

the other poster made my post pretty clear, a exhaust cut out will pick up high horsepower but be loud. no way to get around it

with the GT2. with an lowered car...will you have any clearance issue due to the straight pipes??

i kinda like the exmag....but i dont like the chome/ss tip

I'm running the GT2 at the mo, no rust after a year and a half and clearance has been no problem although my eg is now lowered. Sounds deep and its straight through

even tho lowered no clearence issues will come.. best power gains with the gt2 due to their straight piping route. and definitly one of the best exhaust sounds ive ever heard

The GT2. straightest possible route possible. the only thing is they dont make 80mm piping for hondas only awd factory turbo cars and 240sx's. like the sti and the evos those rsr makes 80mm for. but for hondas acuras and such they make 60mm 2.36 inches. but being the piping route is straight as possible, the exhaust flow velocity is alot faster . than if you had a 2.36 using stock piping routes. but the rsr gt2 is definitly the best performance exhaust.

i have been trying to figure out the velocity flow differences in the thermal r&d 3'' and the rsr gt2. being the thermal is 3'' but using stock piping routes, and the rsr is 2.36 using the straightest of piping routes, i was trying to see if the velocity flow would be different in the exhausts. with the 3'' the volume of air moved would be greater but would be using the round about stock route, but the rsr 2.36 would be straight and a smaller volume of air being its 2.36 but a greater velocity flow being its straight...... the 3'' could have the same velocity flow and greater volume, but i would think the volocity flow would be slightly slowed down being the piping isnt almost completely straight.

and when you talk about perofrmance exhaust, are we talking turbo or NA?

This is a pretty quiet exhaust. I drove my friends car when he had it. The air intake was louder than this exhaust. My friend said he felt some horsepower lost when he switched from an apex N1 though.

well basicly comparing the apexi n1 to the rsr exmag is like comparing the gt2 to the world sport, the n1 is a more aggressive lineup what apexi has, and the exmag is one of rsr's more non aggressive laid back stock form of exhaust. so sure you will notice a difference when going from a aggressive exhaust to a lesser aggressive exhaust. now comparing the gt2 to the n1 would be a fair comparison. or comparing the world sport to the exmag.
