d16 to d15 swap info?
hey i have a blown d16a6 in my crx and i got a d15 for free with less then 100,000 miles on it and i'm not sure what i have to change to bolt this up to the car. is there any wiring i need to change? thanks
Thats PGM-FI right? Im rather certain its a very simple chop swap and drop. hehe. From my knowledge the D series are easily interchangable
Goodluck with it
cant say the efforts going to be too rewarding tho 92Hp ( which is what ive got) is hardly something made of braggin rights. :/

if the motor is made for mpfi, then it should just pop right in, axles, mounts and everyting are the same. the only thing you would have to do is get a different ecu.
Considering that to convert a dpfi setup to mpfi you need the ecu and wiring from a si, technically aren't you able to just drop the d15b2 motor and tranny in and keep everything else?

D15B2 is 92hp DX engine with DPFI - to put the complete engine in, you would need to do a reverse of the DPFI to MPFI - convert your MPFI to DPFI - not smart choice - swap the intake manifold, camshaft and distributor from your A6 onto the B2 and it all bolts up and plugs in - you would have about 100hp and less torque
is there anyway i can just keep it dpfi and not swap out all that stuff? i just want to keep the engine together as it is. i know i need the dpfi ecu i just need to know what sort of wiring i have to change. its not a wise decision i know but i have no other choice and not a lot of money. the carshow in carlisle PA is coming up soon so i just need an engine that works.

your easiest solution will be to take your d16 intake manifold off and put it on the d15. Everything else bolts up accordingly. Getting the car to run off of dpfi will be more of a headache and take more time than to just take the d16a6 intake manifold off and put it on the d15b2.
And to whoever said it, the d16a6 is 1.6 liter non-vtec. However it does have a more aggressive cam than any of the other pre 96 non-vtec d-series (d16y7 head is completely different)

The D16A6 that you had in there is way better then putting in a D15 because you
are taking a motor that had 108hp and putting one that has 92hp you should just
do a upgrade to a ZC that would give you more hp and not leave you disapointed trust me it will give you a reason to upgrade then do down grade

so all I'll have to do is swap intake manifolds, different ecu and change distributor connectors? and then everything should work? thanks for the info guys.
