Thermo tach jumps up !!!!!!!! help!!!!!!!

Ok..... My Engine temp sensor??? the tach in the dash..... will go all the way up to hot and i can hit the cluster and it will go back to normal.. i'm tired of hitting it.

thats stupid, maybe try testing the sensor, see if its within voltage range. IT might be reading too high of voltage making it shoot up and might burn out your temp guage in the cluster.
