Default Weight out of the front.... swapping steering racks..

Does anyone know the weight difference between the ITR steering rack compared to the manual CX steering rack. I have my motor out right now, and am getting ready for the weight reduction part of the project. Just wondering what the difference is. If it is worthwhile I will swap the racks and put the quaife rack and pinion in the manual one to get a better ratio. Thanks.

The stock CX rack ratio is AWFUL. If you decide to do it, definitely do the Quaife thing. Alternatively, removing the PS pump and lines and so on would probably net you a weight loss close to what the manual rack would, and it's free.

Yeah, if I keep the power steering rack, I will be pulling all of that out. I am trying to take it a little further and see if there is much of a weight difference between the actual racks themselves rather than all of the lines and brackets.

It's definitely not enough of a difference that you'd feel it. I swapped these racks a couple months back, and didn't notice any significant difference. If it was a competition car and you were strapped for weight loss, that might be another story, but as it is, I really wouldn't worry about it.
